Mike D DESERVES Our Support!

Mike D is a friend, someone who has interviewed me for his website (Raising Real Winners), and someone who has written for THIS website: he DESERVES Our Support!

But please don't read this note if you're not looking for a new way to look at the world, success, how to get things done.

I know there are a lot of success strategies floating around out there.

     Law of Attraction

     Positive Thinking

     Affirmations

     Motivation

And don't get me wrong – all of those and a few others are great and they surely can help you. But– and this is a real Big But…

Nothing happens until you get going. Period!

Or as my Friend and Author of the New Book, Motion Before Motivation, The Success Secret That Never Fails, Mike D. says…

"Getting in Motion and Getting Started is The Real Secret For Success"

And if you talk to anyone who is living life on THEIR terms they'll tell you the same thing. And that's why I recommend you pick a copy of Mike's book, Motion Before Motivation, The Success Secret That Never Fails

Notice I have NO message on here about an affiliate commission to be paid to me. Why? Simply because I think this book is so good I'm rushing this information to you before I have it set up. When I send notes out through Twitter, they will have my affiliate commission – this does not.

Mike has interviewed me for his Real Winners series on RaisingGreatFamilies and I have admired his work (to help kids) for a long time.

In the book Mike tells a lot of fun and even embarrassing personal stories. He talks about business ventures gone bad and even crazy mothers-in-law. Then he relates it perfectly to help you get going and get in motion so you can reach a higher level.

And even if you get this book just to put it on your desk so you can look at the title, “Motion Before Motivation,” as you begin each day it will be worth it for you. Seriously, don't you love the title? Don't you find that is SO true in your own life?

When you grab the book today, you'll also get over 1000 bucks worth of Fr*ee gifts and even a 3 day 2 night get away. So get in motion and jump over to http://www.motionbeforemotivation.com/ to get the details and get the book today.

In addition to my own support here (and as someone who is giving away some of my own work to encourage you to purchase this book today), here are a few early endorsements for “Motion Before Motivation, The Success Secret That Never Fails”

“This book will inspire you to overcome
any obstacle that stands between you and the
life you want and deserve.”
-Brian Tracy, President: Brian Tracy International

“Practical advice to help you get from
where you are to where you want to be!”
-Peggy McColl, New York Times Best-Selling Author

“Mike D. is like a young Earl Nightinggale!”
-Ben Gay, III Author, Editor, Publisher, “The Closers”

“The tools and inspiration to design the life
you want, faster than you’ve ever dreamed possible.”
-Carol Frank, Birds Eye Consulting

And when you follow this link, you will be eligible to TONS of free gifts from some really talented people. Just take a look at them now – you may want some of them even more that you'll want this book (and if you're like me and want to motivate others to success you WILL want this book!).

Go look at his information to see for yourself. Again the link is…

PS: Mike D isn't just someone I've heard about and this isn't a huge launch where every marketer in the world is spamming you with information: Mike's a great guy, I've seen his materials for a few years, I support what he's doing, and this book is really worth your time.

Jamie, the girls, and I recently made the drive from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire to Ocean City New Jersey. My parents live in Philadelphia and Jamie has family in both South and Central New Jersey. So beyond Ocean City, NJ being one of our favorite “quick summer getaways” when we lived in Philadelphia and Barnegat it was an easy way to allow any family who wanted to see us, visit without taking the long drive to “The Granite State.” The girls had a blast on the rides and the boardwalk. Julia wants to move back to NJ so we can “go on the rides every night!”

While browsing around one of the many boardwalk shops I saw a novelty item that really caught my eye and made me think a little. (enough to write this article). It was one of those little display pieces that you hang on the wall with a cute saying on it. The saying that caught my eye and made me think was…

“I hope my ship comes in before the dock rots.”

How many people do you know are waiting for their ship to come in? More importantly, what ships are you waiting for?

To some extent we are all “waiting” for the right time to do something. I don't care how “successful” you may be. I just think that people who get more accomplished in their lives are simply waiting for less ships, therefor the math works in the favor. They've just figured out that if they wait too long the dock will rot because the truth is… No ship is coming!

I am not sure what the analogy should be… Do we spot our ship and then jump in the water and swim to it? Do we charter our own? Pick the one that fits you best. Either way the lesson is…

Go make something happen! Move toward your dreams and goals.

As a still relatively new parent I often catch myself dangerously saying to myself, “When the kids get older I will….” Of course there's some practicality to that thinking. Jamie and I can't just head off to the Bahamas by ourselves without first carefully considering who'd be in charge while we were gone. But when the girls are older, why not??

The danger for us parents is when we wait too long to pursue certain goals. What I have found is that when I go forward and work on or do something that I thought would not be possible 'now' because of the girls is that things do work out and everyone benefits.

Yes, you are correct! Parents do have to wait a little for certain things. But when it comes to your dreams, your goals or anything else just begin to move forward a little a time. It can be the most simple of things… Maybe you'd like to do martial arts or play a sport that you haven't played since you were a kid. Maybe you'd like to write that book that's inside of you. Make time for it and start a little a time. Other wise - your dock just may rot!

I learned about the three kinds of people from Bob Alexander when I was just twenty years old. You are in control of what happens to you. Even if you trust in a higher power to guide you, you know that the higher power helps those who decide to help themselves. It is very rare that anyone on this planet will always be there to save you every single time you need help.

It’s better to assume that you are the only one who can save yourself and then act accordingly by making things happen in your life. Making things happen requires that you get and stay in motion toward your goals.

If someone does help you or you get that lucky break, consider it a bonus. And when it comes to luck, you must remember that luck is generated when cross-timed with preparation. Very often, it’s just a matter of being in the right place. And being in the right place is a by-product of being in motion.

As you make things happen for yourself you’ll benefit everyone close to you.

“Quick Fixes” the Economy and Solving Your Own “Crisis”

I was reading an article on Foxbusiness.com about the “Economic Crisis”
The article mentioned: “because of the root causes – a housing collapse, credit crunch, and financial turmoil – are the worst since the 30’s and don’t lend themselves to easy or quick fixes.”

It is a good thing that there are no “quick fixes.” Let’s explore how this relates to your life…

Anytime you find yourself dealing with your own “crisis” you too must remember that there are no “quick fixes.”

Over the years I have made countless mistakes both in my business and personal life. Some mistakes had greater consequences than others. In all cases a quick fix approach really never worked to bring about a long term solution. My experience has taught me a unique way to deal with crisis situations and come out stronger. Maybe these strategies can work for you?

Whenever you’ve made a mistake or made a decision that turned out to be a disaster you can turn the situation into a positive one by using these four strategies…

1)	Come to grips with reality. Many people hold on to what they feel “should” be reality. Sometimes the way things should be and the way they actually are don’t match up. It’s extremely important that you quickly let go of should’s and start basing your current decisions and actions on reality. Sure the person who sold you this business or opportunity said that by month three you should be able to cover expenses, but that is not what is actually happening. So you must come to grips with reality and make some adjustments.

2)	Remind yourself that it will pass. This part of the process is not about putting your head in your pillow and waiting for everything to be ok. It’s actively knowing that right now you are in a tough situation that will make you stronger and wiser. Therefore what you do is extract the wisdom as it is being dealt to you while future pacing yourself to when you’ve solved this crisis and moved on with your new wisdom.

3)	Place the odds in your favor by making only one bet. It’s nice to think that others will help you get through. It’s also nice to think that if someone else was with you as the crisis began that they will help you pull out of the situation. It’s safer to assume that they have jumped ship early because they expect it to sink and don’t want to drown. Basically assume that anyone who you got into this mess with is going to save themselves first. It’s the whole idea of: “I don’t have to outrun the grizzly bear I just have to out run you.” If the crisis is yours – own it 100%! If your signature is on the documents do what you have to do. Then if you pull out of the crisis yourself anything that someone else does will be an added bonus!

4)	Base your decisions on the long term. You need to think long-term when solving a crisis. Anything less is like putting new windows and siding on a house with foundational problems. It may look ok for a while- but eventually it’s going to come down. Think of what is in your long-term best interest.

As my mentor Brian Tracy said on one of his audio programs. “Crisis is a part of life.” You’ll always have them. Crisis can make you stronger when you use the above four strategies and look for long-term solutions not “Quick Fixes”
