Liz Seymour Sings
Liz Seymour is a 25-year-old singer who lives on the Main Line outside of Philadelphia, PA USA.
She's been singing since she was two years old when a friend of mine said, "she's too young to be able to sing the notes I'm playing on the piano… but she is!" And then there was the time in nursery day school the teachers became upset because she was singing, "Swing your razor wide, Sweeney…" at the same time I was directing Sweeney Todd at The Players Club of Swarthmore Theater. (Her teachers soon understood that "theater dad" was doing another show and his daughter was learning all the music.)
OK… so the flute and the violin weren't here instruments, but clearly her voice is.
She's soloed in church and in school, been the first chair in regional chorus and onto state chorus, had leads in musical theater productions (flying as Peter in Peter Pan, clicking her heals as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, crying every night at the death of her husband as Linda in Blood Brothers opposite Josh Young, and dying each performance in Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods as The Baker's Wife), been featured on several CDs, and now is presenting her own CD of her favorite music.
Partnering with her are Josh Young, the Syracuse-trained, well-known performer for the national tour of Les Miserables as Marius (which he also played at the longest-continuously-operating theater in the USA, the Walnut Street Theatre, and other places) and the award-winning theater composing team of Brian Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan who provide the music and lyrics for their powerful song, Say The Word. (Liz Seymour's theater resume can be seen here!)
Liz is also a teacher – Sixth Grade Math and Science as well as teaching and choreographing youth at Young People's Theater Workshop.
Join her on her own site to see why there's so much talk about her as she prepares her latest musical project: Liz Seymour – Gimme Gimme That Thing Called Love!
Enjoy her and her music. I have for many years!
